The Hornby BR Class 31 A1A-A1A D5500 – Era 5 is a detailed model of one of Britain’s most recognisable diesel locomotives. Part of the Hornby diesel range, this model accurately recreates the appearance of the original locomotive as it operated during British Rail Era 5.

Built as the first locomotive under the 1955 British Transport Commission modernisation plan, D5500 was used on mainline services from London Liverpool Street. Later renumbered 31018 under the TOPS system, the locomotive was withdrawn in 1976 and is now preserved by the National Railway Museum.

Ideal for British railway enthusiasts and modellers, this Hornby Class 31 makes a strong addition to any OO gauge layout or collection.
